White Gold
Polish and rhodium plating can change with wear. A jeweler can inspect the piece and, where appropriate, refinish or replate it.

Avoid sharp impacts, especially around exposed edges. Clean with a lint-free cloth and mild household detergent. Steam or ultrasonic cleaning is best left to a professional who can first check that the stone and setting are secure.

A closer look

Crafted in Detail

Materials, stones and craftsmanship explained clearly by the people who create the piece.

Stone

Natural Pink Diamond

In most natural pink diamonds, the pink color is associated with plastic deformation: stress distorts the diamond crystal lattice after growth and creates a broad absorption feature near 550 nm. The precise atomic mechanism is still not fully understood, which is part of what makes natural pink diamonds scientifically distinctive.

Stone

Diamond

Diamond is crystalline carbon and ranks 10 on the Mohs scale, giving it exceptional resistance to scratching. Hardness is not the same as toughness, however, so a diamond can still chip or fracture from a hard impact.
Learn more

Diamond is crystalline carbon: a single element arranged in a tightly bonded crystal structure. It ranks 10 on the Mohs scale, giving it exceptional resistance to scratching. Hardness is not the same as toughness, however; like any gemstone, diamond can chip or cleave if struck sharply in a vulnerable direction.

Metal

White Gold

White gold is a gold alloy made lighter in color by combining gold with white-colored metals. Many pieces are rhodium plated for a brighter finish; that surface layer can wear over time and may need professional renewal.
Learn more

White gold is a family of gold alloys rather than a single formula. Pure gold is mixed with white-colored metals to produce a paler color and improve working properties. Many pieces are rhodium plated to create a brighter, harder surface.

Karatage describes gold purity. Fourteen-karat gold contains about 58.3% gold and is commonly marked 585; the remaining alloy varies by formulation. A product’s exact alloy and surface treatment should be verified separately when relevant.

Metal

Rose Gold

Rose gold is a gold alloy whose pink tone comes primarily from copper, often with silver also present. The exact shade varies with the alloy composition and karat.

Setting

Halo

A halo setting surrounds the center stone with a ring of smaller accent stones, adding brilliance around it and making the center stone appear larger without changing its actual size.

Setting

Side Stones

A side-stone design places additional stones beside the center stone to add brilliance, color or visual balance while keeping the center stone as the main focal point.

Cut & shape

Oval

Oval describes an elongated rounded outline. The outline can be paired with different cutting styles, including brilliant, mixed, step-style, or cabochon, so an oval outline does not by itself mean Oval Brilliant.

Certification

GIA

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is an independent gemological institute. Its diamond reports document grading information such as carat weight, color, clarity and, where applicable, cut; report information can be checked through GIA Report Check.
